ANANTNAG, MAY 31: Taking cognizance of the complaints
pouring in from different areas of the District regarding drinking water, DDC
Anantnag, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah (IAS), today conducted an inspection of
the Water Supply Scheme Bumzoo which supplies water to the Anantnag town and
adjacent areas.
During the inspection, the DDC observed various discrepancies in the
discharge of duties by the staff of the department. Meanwhile, he issued
showcase notice to the SE Hydraulic and Executive Engineer PHE to explain their
position with regard to the complaints of drinking water supply in Anantnag.
The DDC issued strict directions to the SE and Xen to ensure that
general public does not suffer due to lack of potable drinking water supply,
especially during the holy month of Ramadhan.
Meanwhile, DDC directed all the officers that people should not be left
to face any inconvenience or difficulty during this holy month. People have
