SRINAGAR, MAY 16: Divisional
Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today suspended three officers of
Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) for negligence of duty.
During surprise check of various departments today, it was observed
heaps of garbage was lying unattended outside JVC and in the adjoining areas,
besides, encroachment of pavements in Hari Singh High Street and Maharaja Bazar
areas which is in contravention to the officials orders issued, resulted in the
suspension of Sanitation Inspector, Ward 24, and Ward Officer, Ward 24 Khilafwarzi
Officer of the ward.
Commissioner, SMC and other Municipal Officers were directed to ensure
clearance of pavements and also ensure that none of the shopkeepers is allowed
to place stocks outside their shops on the pavements.
