SRINAGAR, MAY 25: An eco-tour and
nature walk for students was organized by Department of Ecology, Environment
& Remote Sensing, to raise awareness about environmental issues.
The programme was held in collaboration with Department of Environmental
Science, Government Degree College, Bemina, during which the students along
with teachers of toured Dachigam National Park.
During the tour,
participants were made aware about the importance of Biodiversity and Wildlife
by the experts. They also shared their views on the theme ‘Connecting People to
the Nature’. A power point presentation depicting wildlife species of Ladakh,
Kashmir and Jammu regions was also displayed for the students.
The experts laid
stress for immediate collective measures for the protection/conservation of
Wildlife, Biodiversity as the survival of humans is directly or indirectly
dependent on their survival.
