| Minister reviews progress on various projects at Uri |
BARAMULLA, MAY 24: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood
Control Sham Lal Chaudhary today said that ensuring drinking water supply to
every household is top priority of the coalition Govt.
The Minister said this during his visit to Uri during which he took a
comprehensive review of various centrally as well as state sponsored Public
Health Engineering and Irrigation related schemes.
The Minister was accompanied by Chief Engineers of PHE, Irrigation and
Flood control, SE’s, ADC Baramulla, AEE’s, Ex En’s besides
various officers of line departments.
During the visit, the Minister was informed that 130 schemes have been
taken under various programmes in which 110 have been completed and the work on
remaining is underway. He stressed upon concerned authorities to work in
synergy and enthusiasm so that all projects are completed within stipulated
time. He sought coordination and cooperation among departments so that target
achieving mechanism can be initiated.
Earlier, the Minister took review of dredging works on river Jhelum at
Baramulla wherein he stressed upon timely completion of the works.
