Members seek adequate staff, upgrading of infra
SAMBA MAY 11: MLA Samba, Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal
today chaired maiden meeting of newly constituted Shiksha Kalyan Samiti(SKS) at
Government Model Higher Secondary School Samba.
The 25
member committee has been constituted on the analogy of ‘Rogi
Kalyan Samiti’ with MLA Samba as Chairman and having members from Health, PDD, PHE,
PWD and other government departments besides, representatives from NGOs and
Corporate .
Dr Manyal informed that the committee has been formed for the betterment
of education and is first such initiative in the state. He called upon members
to come up with their suggestions for improvement of education system which
would be adopted after thorough deliberations. The meeting discussed various
issues pertaining to the improvement and development of the institute and
highlighted urgent need of upgrading physical infrastructure and sanctioning of
additional posts of teaching and non-teaching staff. The members suggested for
holding Parents- Teachers meetings on regular intervals, organizing career
guidance and counselling programmes for students.
On the occasion, MLA Samba announced Rs 10 lakh out of his constituency
Development Fund for the school and also released ‘School
Information brochure cum Diary’. He sought support from public, NGOs
and corporate houses for the development of infrastructure in the school.
Senior functionaries including CEO Samba O.P Bhagat, DSWO Mushtaq
Choudhary, AEEs, Health officials besides representatives from corporate houses
and Social organizations including UPL limited, Berger Paints, Rotary Club Samba, Lions Club Beopar Mandal and prominent citizens were present in the meeting.
