UDHAMPUR, MAY 29: Member Legislative Assembly Ramnagar, R.S Pathania on Monday attended an awareness programme organized by Department of Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj at Government High Schol Thalora, Manwal of Block Majalta.
The programme was organized as a part of Anti-polythene drive being carried out by the department in an attempt to make the rural as well as urban areas polythene- free.
While highlighting the various health hazards of the polythene, the MLA urged the students to make the rural people aware about the harmful effects of polythene. He also stressed on the use of alternative materials like paper bags, jute bags etc. in place of polythene.
The MLA also sought cooperation of the participants in making his constituency Open Defecation Free (ODF).
Later, the MLA flagged off an awareness rally in which a large number of students participated.

ACD Udhampur, Om Prakash, Ex-En Mehmood Ahmed, DPO Sandeep Seointra, Tehsildar Majalta, ZEO Majalta and officers and officials from different departments were also present on the occasion.
