Naeem Akhtar calls
for revival of water transport
SRINAGAR, MAY 10: Minister for Public Works, Naeem Akhtar today inaugurated a day long workshop on Urban Mobility Transformation Solutions for Srinagar City organized by SMC
Speaking
on the occasion, Minister called for smooth mobility of transport for entire
valley including Srinagar city and stressed on revival of traditional water
transport, which has been abandoned in contemporary times.
He
asked for proper planning of entire city with regard to smooth flow and
pedestrian spaces.
On
the occasion, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan said the
interaction with experts, during the workshop, will definitely help in finding
out ways and means in urban mobility.
Commissioner
SMC Dr Shafqat Khan said the SMC envisions to see Srinagar as smart city and it
isn’t possible without urban mobility transformation
solutions.
