KUPWARA, MAY 26: To raise awareness about the female feticides and need of balance in sex-ratio, a seminar on Pre-natal Diagnostic Techniques Act was held at Government Degree College Sogam in which District Development Commissioner G. M. Dar was the chief guest.
          On the occasion, various speakers shared their views on the importance of the Act and also threw light on beti bachao beti padhao programme.
          The DDC said that the administration, parents, students, and educationists need to play their role in generating awareness and improve the efficiency of welfare services intended for girls and for development and betterment of the educational system.
          He announced Rs 15 lakh for the purchase of new school bus, two generator sets for GDC Kulgam, besides Rs 2 lakh fee for girl students of the College and Higher Secondary School Sogam and for purchase of Generator set for SDH Sogam.  

          Principals of GDC Sogam & Higher Secondary School Sogam, CMO, Officers of Education and Health Departments besides other concerned were also present on the occasion.
