will help in grooming JK’s young
cricketers: Secretary Sports Council
SRINAGAR, MAY 10: State’s first ever cricket Academy
was officially inaugurated by the secretary Sports council. The first of its
kind, state cricket academy is housed in the Bakshi Stadium Srinagar. While the
developmental/construction work is in progress in the area already earmarked
for the purpose. The first coaching camp for u16 boys is being held in the
makeshift area in the same premise.
Speaking
on the occasion, the secretary sports council apprised that establishment of
cricket academy was long due owing to the demand of cricket enthusiasts and
finally after receiving nod from Chief Minister, the President of the Sports
Council and Minister for Youth Service and Sports, Molvi Imran Reza Ansari, it
has finally taken off.
Secretary
also added that academy has a long way to go and will help in grooming the
young cricketers of the state.
Mubashir
Hassan, Director SCA said that the main purpose of the academy is to nurture
cricketers at the grass root level and intends to be nursery for producing
cricketers for bigger stage.
