KISHTWAR JUNE 14: District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan today convened a meeting to discuss the arrangement for smooth conduct of Sarthal Devi Ji yatra falling on 1st and 2nd of July 2017.

       Senior Superintendent of Police, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, CPO, Tehsildar, ARTO, CEO KDA, XEN PHE, XEN PDD, AD, CA&PD, CMO, ARTO besides officers of CRPF, Army, Fire services, Information department and representatives of Sri Sarthal Devi Trust were present in the meeting.

​          During the meeting the members of the Trust apprised the Deputy Commissioner that the Yatra will proceed from Goori Shankar mandir Sarkoot towards Sarthal Shrine on Ist July around 2pm and after reaching   Sarthal Devi shrine on next day, the chari will be offered to the Devi. Hawan will be held on same day and on 3rd of July the Yatra will return to Kishtwar.

          Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to ensure all basic facilities enroute Yatra like availability of drinking water, installation of Street lights, availability of Medical facilities, Ambulance, Toilet facilities for pilgrims, PAS and providing of One Digi set to improve the light system around the temple besides sufficient number of vehicles for transportation of devotees.

      The arrangements regarding security and availability of fire tenders were also discussed and finalized.

​          The DDC asked all the officers of line department to work in coordination for smooth conduct of Yatra and ensure full facilities to the devotees on this occasion. The DDC desired to conduct a review meeting on 29th of July with all the departments to check the arrangements put in place by them.
