DODA, JUNE 08: Department of Commercial Taxes, circle Doda today organised an
awareness programme on Goods and service tax (GST) which was attended by CAs, Advocates, Sales
tax practitioners, contractors besides a large number of people from business
community.
Commercial Taxes officer circle Doda Gyas-ul-Haq in his introductory
address, said that the event has been organised to aware the stakeholders about
GST which will be rolled out from 1st July 2017 throughout
the country.
Commercial Taxes officers, Neeraj Sharma and Arvind Sawhney- the resource persons
made a detailed presentation covering all the major aspects of GST and its
impact on tax structure and the dealers.
The participants were informed that the dealer having a turnover
of less than Rs 10 Lakh need not to get themselves registered with the
department. However those dealers having turnover up to Rs 50 lakh can opt for
composite scheme. It was further informed that the dealers already registered with
the department can switch over to the new tax regime through GST portal by 15th of June 2017.
