SRINAGAR,
JUNE 24 - Taking prompt cognizance of complaint highlighted by a local news
paper regarding the functioning of Government LD Hospital, Coordinator in
the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell, Tassaduq Mufti, today deputed two
senior officers of the Chief Minster's Secretariat to physically verify
the genuineness of the complaint in the hospital.
The visiting officers did not find any serious lapse in the functioning of the
hospital as reported in the news paper, however due to heavy rush of the
patients the only lift which is in operation was found most busy and over
burdened with the result the patients are facing difficulty. The second lift in
the new building is under repair by the JKPCC as the same was damaged during
2014 floods.
The hospital authorities briefed the visiting officers that the old building
has two functional elevators, while as the new building has not been properly
handed over by the JKPCC to the hospital which is causing problems in its
maintenance and upkeep.
The visiting officers also inspected the services in the hospital including
bio-medical segregation system, sanitation, on-going construction work of STP
which were found satisfactory. They urged the executing agency to speed up the
pace of STP construction and repair of lift to make these facilities functional
at the earliest.
