JUNE 19: Deputy Commissioner,
Ramesh Kumar, chaired the annual meeting of Zila Sainik Welfare Board here
today.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr Bharat
Bhushan, Zila Sainik Welfare Board officer Col. Y.S Andotra, Adm. Commandant
Basohli B.K Suri, CMO, CEO, DTO, Head Post Master besides members of the board
and Ex serviceman attended the meeting.
ZSWO gave a resume of functioning of the
board and threw light on several schemes being launched for Ex serviceman, war
veterans, widows, war disabled, orphans, Gallantry award winners and related
categories offered by the board.
The Deputy Commissioner, while
addressing the meeting, called upon the ZSWO to schedule two meetings in a year
so that redressal of issues can be ensured in a time bound manner. He also
called for organising meetings at block and tehsil level so that ex-serviceman
community is acquainted with latest schemes and procedures.
The DC also announced a dedicated one hour for
listening to the grievances of Ex-servicemen on
every Saturday from 10 am to 11 am. He assured that all possible
efforts will be made to address issues raised by the members.
Deputy Commissioner also took up issues such
as recruitment rallies in hilly areas and availability of Mobile CSD canteen
with Adm Commandant.
The Ex-Servicemen apprised the meeting
of various issues and sought intervention of the district administration in
redressing these at the earliest.
Earlier, ZSWO gave details of awareness
programmes conducted for expanding coverage of Sainik Welfare schemes for the
welfare and settlement of Ex-servicemen and their dependents.
