Divisional Commissioner Jammu meets Governor

SRINAGAR, JUNE 3: Dr. M.K. Bhandari, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.

Dr. Bhandari apprised the Governor, Chairman of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, about the arrangements being made for reception of Shri Amarnahji Yatra 2017 on their arrival at Jammu, by road and rail, and regarding their onward movements to the Valley. He also informed Governor about the Yatra Review Meeting taken by him earlier this week. The Divisional Commissioner also informed the Governor about the various steps taken by the Divisional Administration for providing relief and rehabilitation to the  inhabitants  of the border areas who are victims of frequent incidents of cross border firing.

 Governor advised Dr. Bhandari to ensure provision of all required facilities  for the Yatris, right from Lakhanpur Post to Banihal and, besides, to take due care for providing basic amenities and ensuring the well being of villagers affected by trans LoC firing.

 Dr. Bhandari also met and held extensive discussions with Sh. Umang Narula, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, in regard to the forthcoming Yatra.
