KUPWARA, JUNE 8 – On the
instructions of District Development Commissioner, the special market checking
teams have been constituted at Tehsil level to keep a close check on violators
of Essential Commodities Act.
The Market Checking Squads today conducted
the inspection and market checking at Handwara, Kralpora, Langate and Sogam
markets under the close supervision of respective Tehsildars along with other
members.
During the inspection, the teams
realized Rs 4150 in Handwara, Rs 3300 in Kralpora and Rs 500 in Langate from
the erring traders found involved violating the different sections of Essential
Commodities Act. The teams also destroyed 1.70 quintals of rotten and
substandard eatable items on the spot.
