SRINAGAR, JUNE 06: Minister of State for Forest,
Environment, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Cooperatives, Mir
Zahoor Ahmad, today called for early disposal of pending cases regarding
compensation to the landowners of Commando Training Centre (CTC), Lethpora and
District Police Line (DPL) Awantipora.
The Minister said this while chairing
a meeting with officers of the Police Department to discuss the compensation
issue.

Quarter Surinder Kumar, AIG Personal, Incharge Principal CTC, Deputy
Superintendent of Police (HQ) Awantipora and other officers were present in the
meeting.
The Police authorities briefed the
Minister that the total land measuring 354.5 kanals worth Rs 12.12 crore has
come under the Commando Training Centre Lethpora. While as Rs 3.54 crore have been
released, so far, as compensation amount for the landowners. The amount has
been credited into the Account Head 8443-RD Civil Collector Land Acquisition
Pulwama for disbursement of compensation to the land owners.
It was said that the Revenue Department after ascertaining the
title and quantum of land will disburse the compensation to each landowner. On the occasion, the Minister stressed
on expediting the grant of remaining compensation amount and asked the
concerned to pursue the case vigorously to ensure that the case is cleared off
on priority.
During the meeting, the Principal CTC
apprised the Minister about the deteriorated condition of the approach road to
CTC Lethpora. Mir Zahoor immediately directed the officials of Roads and
Building Department to macadamize the road from Main road to Administrative
Block on priority.
Detailed discussions were also held on
compensation case of District Police Line Awantipora. The meeting was informed
that 80 percent of the compensation was provided to the landowners who have
provided their land for the establishment of District Police Line.
