SRINAGAR, JUNE 01: Minister of State for Forest,
Environment, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Cooperative, Mir
Zahoor Ahmad, today called for synergy among the concerned Departments to
ensure speedy delivery of public services.
The Minister was addressing officers of Social Forestry, Wildlife
Protection, Animal & Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Departments here at a
meeting he chaired to take stock of their functioning.
He stressed the officers to forge strong coordination among the field
units and directorates to ensure speedy and time-bound delivery of services to
the people.
The meeting also discussed problems being faced by the employees of the
line departments which include revenue realization and regularization of casual
laborers, among other issues.
Director Sheep Husbandry Kashmir Mohammad Ramzan Sheikh, Director Animal
Husbandry Kashmir M Y Chaproo, Director Fisheries R N Pandita, Chief
Conservator of Forest & Director Social Forestry A K Puta, Conservator of
Forest Srinagar Javid Ahmad Andrabi, Director Finance Cooperative Mohammad
Rafiq and other officers of Social Forestry, Wildlife Protection, Animal &
Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Departments were present in the meeting.
The meeting was informed that there are 444 casual labours in Social
Forestry Department, 339 casual labours in the Fisheries Department while as
1405 in Wildlife Protection Department.
Detailed discussions were held in the meeting on release of wages and
remuneration to need based and casual laborers working in these departments.
Mir Zahoor directed the Heads of the concerned Departments to come up
with a comprehensive proposal to settle the flagged issue and asked the
officers to work with added zeal and dedication to realize the set targets in
full.
