| Asks officers to ensure timely completion of projects |
SRINAGAR, JUNE 14: Minister of State for Forest,
Environment, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Cooperative and Fisheries, Mir
Zahoor Ahmad, Wednesday said that several Water Supply Schemes (WSSs) at an estimated cost of
Rs. 10 crore are underway and will be completed within their stipulated
time-frames to meet the water needs in the Pampore Constituency.
The Minister was speaking at a meeting of senior officers of Public
Health Engineering and Mechanical Engineering departments to review the status
of ongoing WSSs in the Constituency.
The meeting was informed that works on Water Supply Schemes at Wyon,
Dassu, Gungbal, Utrusoo, Konibal and Jawbera are in full swing and that these
will be completed within their stipulated timeframes. It was also given out
that the Water Supply Scheme at Lethipora B has also been taken up under
Kachari Land Compensation (KLC).
Mir Zahoor directed the officers to re-double their efforts and
accelerate the pace of progress on these projects for their early benefits to
the people. He also directed for ensuring that only quality material be used
for the projects.
While taking stock of availability of tube-wells in the Constituency,
the Minister directed the concerned to immediately install tube-wells in Neej and
Mandakpaul areas. He announced an amount of Rs. 5 lakh out of Constituency
Development Fund (CDF) for the purpose. The Minister also asked the concerned
to ensure functioning of all defunct water pipes in the Constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, Mir Zahoor said the government is committed
to augmentation of all those Water Supply Schemes which will boost the water
supply scenario in rural areas of the State.
District Development Commissioner, Pulwam, G. M Dar, was also present in
the meeting.
