Set up on the directions of CM, festival relives the spirit of holy
month; lucky draws, cuisines, kids corner main attractions
SRINAGAR, JUNE 20: The Ramadhan festival being
held at Kashmir Haat, Srinagar has been drawing huge response from the people.
Organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages under the
supervision of Department of Culture, the aim of holding the festival was to
relive the spirit of festivity during and after Iftaars.
As part of the festival, food stalls of various cuisines were set up by
various eatery joints which are being thronged by people in good numbers during
Iftaar time and night hours. A special feature of the festival has been a
separate kids corner where kids play and entertain themselves while their
elders would be relishing various cuisines in the cool comforts of Exhibition
Grounds.
Many prizes and gift items were also kept for a special Ramadhan lucky
draw held yesterday. The first prize of a colour television was won by one
Aasima. The other gift items included fridge, oven, music system, bicycle and
tea set.
The next lucky draw will be held one day before Eid (Arfa) in which a
motor bike will be given as first prize.
It may be recalled here that Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti during a
Ramadhan preparatory meeting had directed organizing of a festival at Kashmir
Haat to relive the spirit of the holy month and also provide a festive mood to people
during this month.
