UDHAMPUR,
JUNE 14: District Hospital Udhampur, in
collaboration with District Red Cross Society, today observed 'World Blood
Donor Day’ in its premises.
Medical Superintendent, Dr.
Narinder Bhatial was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
While highlighting the importance
of the day, Dr. Bhatial said that the main objective of celebrating the day is
to extend thanks to all those people who have donated their blood voluntarily
and encouraged others to be part of the noble cause.
He stressed that many lives could
be saved through blood donation and urged all the healthy people to donate
blood once in three months. He further informed that many awareness programmes have
been organised from time to time by the district hospital for motivating the
people to donate blood.
Students of ANMT school presented
'Nukad Natak' on the occasion, while a large number of volunteers also donated
blood.
Among others, Secretary District
Red Cross Society Udhampur, Dr V.P Sharma, Officers and officials of district
hospital and students of ANMT were present.
