I-Day arrangements discussed at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, JULY 25: Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Avny Lavasa today convened a meeting to discuss the arrangements for the celebration of Independence Day function.

It was decided in the meeting that the main function would be held in at Government PG College for Boys.  The main function would start with the unfurling of flag by the VIP followed by march past  by Contingents drawn from District Police, SKPA, NCC and students of various schools. Besides this, the school children would also present cultural programmes on the theme of patriotism.

Threadbare discussions were held regarding arrangements of seating, barricading, security, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, first-aid, deployment of buses and fire-tenders etc and the concerned officers were directed to ensure effective arrangements of the same.

Several committees of officers have also been constituted to ensure smooth celebration of the Independence Day. It was also decided that ‘Shehnai Vaadan’ would be organized by the District Information Center .Besides this, all the important Government buildings would also be illuminated on the occasion .

Speaking on the occasion, the ADC stressed upon the officers of various departments to work in tandem  so that all arrangements required for the conduct of National function are ensured well in time.

 The meeting was attended by all the District Officers of different departments, Principals of different institutions and senior officers of Police & Defense.
