SAMBA,JULY 7: With an aim to bring positive perception towards the girl
child, District Administration Samba today observed ‘Ladli
Diwas’ in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir academy of Art, Culture and
Language at Government Degree College here.
On the occasion, ADDC Kathua Vivek Sharma who was the chief guest
highlighted the importance of saving and education a girl child and called upon
civil society members, academicians, writers to play their role in creating
awareness among the masses for the success of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign.
Speaking
on the occasion, ADDC Samba said that a District Level Task Force for the
implementation of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao was constituted to ensure community
participation in programmes for saving girl child and to achieve healthy child
sex ratio in the district.
She said district administration will soon launch a series of activities
to create awareness among stakeholders at Panchayat, Block, and Tehsil level.
She said that there is a need to educate women about their rights incorporated
under constitution and other legislations for safeguarding women and to counter
their exploitation.
The famous Dogri writers including Santosh Sagra narrated different
story written by them on the theme.
