DODA JULY 08:-Under Building and Other Construction
workers Act 1996, department of Labour today released financial assistance
on account of various welfare assistance schemes among 60 beneficiaries
amounting to Rs. 6,12,500 including 59 cases of Lower Education Assistance
worth Rs. 4,07,500 and 1 Death Assistance of Rs.2,05,000 during a Look adalat
at Court Complex Doda.
The Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Sub Judge/ Chief Judicial
Magistrate, O.P Thakur and Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, Arun Kotwal
handed over the authority letter/ Cheque to the beneficiaries.
Speaking on the occasion, O.P Thakur exhorted upon the officials of
labour Department to raise awareness among the workers about various ongoing
government schemes so that deserving people avail benefits of the scheme.
During the Lok Adalat, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Pradyot Gupta briefed the
gathering about various schemes of the department.
In the
same Lok Adalat, under Contract Labour Act, Payment of Wages Act & Minimum
Wages Act 5 prosecution cases were disposed off and a fine of Rs. 7500 was
recovered.
