SRINAGAR, JULY 08: J&K State Legal Services Authority (SLSA)
today organized National Lok Adalats across the State during which 6926 cases
were settled amicably.
The Lok Adalats were held under the patronage of Chief Justice of
J&K High Court, Justice Badar Durez Ahmad, who is also patron-in-chief of
SLSA.
According
to the Member Secretary J&K State Legal Service Authority, R. N. Watal,
7000 cases of different nature were taken up and 6926 cases were settled during
the Lok Adalats.
A sum of Rs 3.90 crore were awarded as compensation in motor accident
claims and Rs 6.34 crore were realized in bank suit claims in the said Lok
Adalats.
