JAMMU, JULY 07: An unparallel creativity was at display in the painting competition in which children canvassed their innovative ideas towards realizing the essence of Van Mahotsav of more forests, more trees for greener and safer environment.
The painting contest was organized by Department of Information and Public Relations, Government of Jammu and Kashmir on the topic “Forests for Life” to mark the celebrations of ‘Van Mahotsav-2017’ at Kala Kendra, Jammu.
The competition which was organized for young artists saw participation from more than 250 budding painters across the province in two categories 5 to 10 and 11 to 16 years of age respectively.
Deputy Director, DIPR said that these competitions organized by the department give a platform to the youth to come forward and showcase their creativity besides tapping the enormous talent of the state.
“These steps go a long way in imparting self confidence in the young artists and encourage them to proceed for a career in creative professions”, she added.
The paintings will be judged by the experts from Institute of Music and Fine Arts and the results will be declared shortly followed by an award giving ceremony to be organized by the department in this regard. Winners as such will be intimated by the department.
