SRINAGAR, JULY 03: Minister for Rural Development &
Panchayati Raj and Law & Justice, Abdul Haq, today
inaugurated a 2-day training programme for field functionaries of Pradan Mantri
Awas Yojna - Gramin (PMAY-G) at Regional Extension Training Centre (RETC)
Budgam.
The Minister said that such training programmes would go a long way in
training our youth to groom into a versatile professionals and help in
employment generation.
He said the programme aims to bring about long term change in the
region by training individuals and helping them to find gainful employment. He
urged officials to ensure greater transparency in their work and work with
added zeal and dedication.
The Minister said that he is optimistic that the training centre will
be a great success in imparting the vocational training to students and directed
the concerned to make the RETC a full-fledged skill imparting institute.
It was said that the Regional Extension Training Centre is the regional
level training institute and currently the work including training part is done
from the present building comprising 6 rooms having a lecture hall and
Principal’s office.
Later, the Minister paid visit to the RDD Complex in Budgam which is
under construction at an estimated cost of Rs 2.5 crore.
He called for speedy completion of the complex, and asked the concerned
to fence its premises properly.
Deputy Commissioner Budgam Mohammad Haroon Malik, SSP Budgam Tejinder
Singh, Director Rural Development Gazanfar Ali, RETC Principal Hakeem Tanveer,
BDOs and other senior officials accompanied the Minister.
