SRINAGAR, JULY 24: The
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar today convened an officers meeting to review the
preparedness for smooth conduct of Independence Day Celebrations in the
district.
The Deputy Commissioner was briefed about the arrangements, being put
in place for the celebration of the Day.
It was
given out that the main function regarding the Day would be held at Bakshi
Stadium, Srinagar where National Flag will be unfurled, followed by the march
past comprising the contingents of BSF, CRPF, JKP, JKAP, Fire & Emergency
Services, Forest Protection Forces, NCC cadets, and students.
The DC directed the officials of SMC to maintain cleanliness in and
around Indoor Stadium and Bakshi Stadium. He directed the officials to ensure
better security arrangements, parking facilities, drinking water tankers, and
proper seating arrangements at the Bakshi Stadium.
He further called for close coordination among the concerned
Departments for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the Independence Day.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioners, Joint Director
Information, SP Security, Chief Education Officer and other concerned officers
attended the meeting.
