GANDERBAL, JULY 4: A day-long Disaster Preparedness Training Programme for Village Disaster Management
Committees was held at Ganderbal by Department of Disaster Management, Relief,
Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, in collaboration with District Disaster
Management Authority Ganderbal and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) today.
About 80 Village Disaster Management
Committee Members of different villages of the District and others attended the
training session. The Training
was held under the World Bank funded Jhelum Tawi Flood Recovery Project.
The Programme was attended by Deputy
Commissioner Ganderbal, Director Disaster Management, Additional Deputy
Commissioner Ganderbal, Assistant Commissioner Revenue and Disaster Management
Professionals.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC Ganderbal
appreciated the role Disaster Management Authority for successful completion of
the programme and said such programmes would go a long way in mitigating
disaster related losses.
