JAMMU, JULY 12: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Mandeep Bhandari today
chaired a meeting to review arrangements for the smooth conduct
of Budha Amarnathji Yatra commencing from July 29 in Poonch.
IGP Dr. S.D Singh, ADC Jammu,
Arun Manhas, Deputy Director Tourism Subah Mehta and other concerned officers
along with representatives of various religious organizations attended the
meeting.
Divisional Commissioner
took stock of arrangements regarding availability of essentials and LPG,
besides provisions being made for Medicare facilities, power supply, drinking
water, parking and accommodation facilities for yatries.
He directed the concerned officers to ensure proper arrangements for reception
of the pilgrims, security, accommodation, communication, sanitation and traffic
regulation so that devotees don’t face any inconvenience. He asked every stake
holder to made comprehensive efforts to provide all the essential amenities to
the Yatris enroute.
He also directed for maintaining
cleanliness enroute Yatra. Fire and Emergency department was
directed to ensure availability of fire tenders at important places enroute
Yatra and food safety department was instructed to keep a strict vigil and
check on food adulteration
The Div Com asked the concerned
officers to made special arrangements for female and old aged pilgrims. He
further directed the officers to install CCTV cameras at base camps for the
security of Yatris.
