I–Day arrangements finalized in Baramulla

BARAMULLA, JULY 29: Arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations were finalized in Baramulla today during a meeting at Dak Bungalow here with Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Nasir Ahmad Naqash, in chair.

Threadbare discussions regarding seating arrangements, presentation of cultural programmes, parade presentation, security arrangement and award presentation were held during the meeting.

It was said that the main function of the Independence Day celebrations in the district will be held at District Headquarters, adding that various cultural programmes and special variety programmes will be presented by students from various schools besides participants from the Information Department and the Cultural Academy. It was also informed that during the celebrations awards will be distributed among persons with remarkable contributions in various fields.

The meeting was also informed that committees have already been put in place to look after different types of arrangements. Speaking on the occasion, the DC, while impressing upon the officers to ensure coordination and cooperation among themselves, stressed that the committees already formulated will re-check all the arrangements put in place.

The DC also directed the officers of R&B, PHE, PDD and other Departments to nominate Nodal Officers for ensuring that all necessary arrangements related to the Independence Day celebrations are completed efficiently.

SSP Baramulla, Additional Deputy Commissioners, Baramulla and Sopore, Joint Director Planning, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Police and Army officials and district and sectoral officers were present in the meeting.
