SRINAGAR, JULY 03: Minister of State for Forest,
Environment, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Cooperative and Fisheries, Mir
Zahoor Ahmad, Monday stressed the need for augmentation of power infrastructure in Pampore
Constituency to cut transmission and distribution losses and improve
electricity scenario.
The
Minister said this while addressing a meeting convened to review the pace of
developmental works taken under different schemes like Deen Dayal Upadhyaya
Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) and Kahcharai Land Compensation (KLC) here today.
He directed the PDD authorities to accelerate the developmental tempo in
the Constituency so that power supply position is improved to the benefit of
the local populace.
Taking stock of the funds released under KLC, Mir Zahoor directed the
concerned to make judicious use of available funds. He also directed them to
identify the un-electrified area of the Constituency so that cent percent
coverage target is achieved. He further asked the officers to start augmentation
work on Wuyan, Konibal, Pampore and Khrew Receiving Stations under DDUGJY.
It was given out that an amount of Rs 1.90 crore has been utilized on
improvement and upgradation of power sector in Lethpora area of the
Constituency under KLC.
The meeting also held threadbare discussions on Restructured Accelerated
Power Development and Reforms Programme (RPDRP). The Minister asked for timely
implementation of the scheme in the district Pulwama.
Senior Officers of Power Development Department and other concerned were
present in the meeting.
