Operation against militants in Pulwama continues; 2 killed: DGP

Srinagar, Jul 15 : A major operation was going on today against militants trapped in the woods in Pulwama district where two militants were killed, Director General of Police (DGP) S P Vaid said. He said the remaining militants have taken shelter in a cave and operation was going on when the last reports came in. Dr Vaid said troops and state police launched a joint search operation in the woods in the Aripal area of Pulwama district early this morning following a tip-off about the militants. When the security forces were moving towards particular area in the woods, militants resorted to indiscriminate firing. Security forces have sealed the entire forest area and are moving towards the spot where militants are hiding. Further details are awaited, he said. UNI BAS SW RSA 1330
