New Delhi, Jul 30 : A special team of Delhi Police has busted a racket of Inter-State gang of illegal firearm traffickers and apprehended a woman who is a proclaimed offender. The woman namely Mobai, aged 45 years was found to be possessing 14 illegal semi-automatic sophisticated pistols of 7.65 mm with 14 spare magazines with “Made in England” and “Made in USA” markings engraved on them. The gang was supplying sophisticated firearms in Delhi-NCR and adjoining areas of UP. On July 26, Police got a clue that Mobai would come to Delhi to deliver a huge cache of semi-automatic weapons to her contacts. Accordingly, a trap was laid by an expert team and the offender was overpowered and apprehended with the help of accompanying woman staff. A case under Arms Act, Special Cell, New Delhi has been registered. Interrogation of Mobai revealed that she procured these weapons from a manufacturer in Madhya Pradesh and the same were to be supplied to various contacts in Delhi, NCR and Western Uttar Pradesh. She admitted that she had supplied weapons in Delhi, NCR and UP West to various persons on several occasions in the last fifteen years. Further investigation is in progress. UNI
