JAMMU, JULY 03 – Minister for PHE, Irrigation and
Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary today inaugurated newly constructed Lanes and
drains here at Jassore area of his home constituency Suchetgarh.
The work of has been completed by Rural Development Department at a cost
of Rs. 10 Lakhs.
Addressing locals, the Minister said that the government is taking all
the mandatory steps for the development of far flung areas including border
belts.
The
Minister also inspected the ongoing flood protection works at Jassore, Kalali
and Tibba areas.
The
Minister directed the concerned officers to complete the work to avoid any
problem during the rainy season.
Chief Engineer PHE, Susheel Aima, Chief Engineer I&FC, Rajeev
Gandotra, Chief Engineer, RTIC Mahesh Das and other engineers of the department
accompanied the minister.
Later, the Minister attended a public meeting at Dak Bungalow,
Suchetgarh. While addressing the gathering, the Minister said that the
government has taken many extraordinary steps for the welfare of the common
masses and special stress is being laid on the empowerment of women.
The Minister urged the women folk to take benefit of the state and
centrally sponsored schemes including AASRA, Ladli Beti, State Marriage
Assistance Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Ujwala Yojana and other social and economic
welfare schemes meant for their empowerment.
