Dy CM pays tributes to Kargil martyrs

SRINAGAR, JULY 25: Paying tributes to the Kargil martyrs, the Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today said the sacrifices made by the soldiers would be remembered for ever and would be recorded in the annals of history.

The Deputy Chief Minister was interacting with a section of media on the eve of Kargil Vijay Divas at Srinagar today.

 Dr Singh said it was due to the sacrifices of the soldiers and their extra-ordinary efforts and bravery that the nation was able to defend its territorial boundaries and give a befitting reply to the enemy. "It is the duty of every Indian to celebrate the Vijay Divas and also recall the historic role of the Army and its Jawans during the Kargil War. The soldiers by the dint of their valor and sacrifices ensured the defeat of the enemy and the sacrifices rendered by these brave-hearts should be remembered forever by the nation. The younger generation must take a cue from it and effectively contribute their bit in nation building", he maintained.
