SRINAGAR, JULY 05: The Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal
Singh has said that the new and latest technological interventions would
increase the Horticulture productivity besides providing new job avenues to the
youth of the state.
The Dy Chief Minister was interacting with people and group of school
children during his visit to the ‘Rise in Kashmir’ exhibition
held at SKICC here today organized by Sansa Foundation.
The
objective of holding the exhibition is to create awareness and sensitize
horticulturists about the central and state policies as well as the
achievements being registered.
Dr Singh said that for ensuing sustained development of horticulture
sector and increasing its productivity throughout the country, the union
government has started ‘Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture’ (MIDH) in
every district of Jammu and Kashmir, North East and Himalayan states. “Under the
scheme the funds are being provided on 90:10 ratio and an amount of Rs 51.52
crore have been earmarked to the state for boosting the horticulture
activities,” he added.
Dr Singh said that the present government lead by Mr Narendra Modi has
ensured that the new technological interventions are adopted in different
sectors so that their productivity gets increased, quality enhances and new
avenues of employment are created.
He said that due to the constant endeavors of the union government head
away has been achieved in every facet of life and people in every part of the
country are getting benefitted from these.
The Deputy Chief Minister further asked the participants of the
exhibition to carry a positive message about the situation in the state to the
other parts of the country and that as ambassadors of propagating peace. He
said that the step would go a long way in dispelling the wrong notions being
created by certain quarters about the situation in the state.
While interacting with the students, the Dy Chief Minister asked them to
pursue their careers in different fields so that they can make a mark for
themselves as well as the state. He said they should also get the requisite
information about the various technologies and their interventions in different
fields and facets of life.
The Deputy Chief Minister also went round the stalls established by the
different government departments of the states, other states and different
corporations.
