DC Kupwara reviews I-Day arrangements

          KUPWARA, AUGUST 09: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara today convened a meeting to review preparedness and arrangements put in place by different departments for ensuing Independence Day 2017 celebrations in the district.

          The meeting decided that main Independence Day function shall be held at District Police Lines, Kupwara. The celebratory function shall start with Shehnai wadhan followed by unfurling of tricolor by the Chief Guest followed by inspection of the march past. The Contingents from various wings of J&K Police, IRP, CRPF, Fire & Emergency, Home guard, NCC, besides students from various educational institutions of the district shall take part in the march past.

          The Deputy Commissioner impressed upon the concerned Departments to make all the necessary arrangements to make the event a success.           

          It was given out that the transportation facilities would be provided by the SRTC to facilitate the participation of students from different destinations to reach the DPL, Kupwara on rehearsal day and on main function day on August 15, 2017.
