AUGUST 09: Vice Chairman State Advisory
Board for Welfare and Development of the OBCs Rashpaul Verma conducted two day
extensive tour of Mendhar Constituency to inspect the ongoing developmental
works and listen to the issues of the people.
During the
tour, the VC interacted with various deputations. He reiterated the
government’s resolve to mitigate the problems of the people related
to basic amenities including health, education, road connectivity, sanitation
and water supply.
The VC
asserted that massive developmental activities have been initiated across the
state to meet the developmental aspirations of the people.
The VC
attended a public meeting in which a large numbers of people participated and
put forth their demands mostly related to enhancement of percentage of
reservation for OBCs for employment and in educational institutions, merging of
05C certificate in OBC certificate, removal of ceiling limit of income for
issuance of OBCs certificate, representation of OBCs in state legislature. They
also sought a comprehensive survey to ascertain the OBC population in the
state.
The VC
also distributed Rs 1000 each to 26 poor and needy people on spot. The Hon'ble
VC gave them patient hearing and assured them that their demands shall be
projected at higher level and he shall act as bridge between masses and
Government.
Meanwhile, a deputation of pensioners belonging to Central Para Military
Forces also met the VC and apprised him about various problems being faced by
them. The VC assured them that their genuine problems shall be taken at the
appropriate forum.
