SRINAGAR,
AUGUST 10: Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal
Singh today asked the officers to work in a coordinated manner to ensure
fast-tracking of reforms and improvement of public services delivery in the
Power Development Department.
The Deputy
Chief Minister was speaking at a meeting convened to discuss the measures to be
put in place for making frame work for greater synergy between district
administration and PDD for ensuring fast tracking reforms and improved public
delivery services in the State.
Minister
of State for Power, Hajj and Auqaf, Syed Farooq Andrabi was also present.
The
meeting was attended by Secretary Technical PDD, Development Commissioner
Power, Chief Engineers, Additional District Commissioners, senior officers of
police, SEs and other senior officers.
While
asking the officers of administration and police to extend every possible
support to the officers and field staff of the PDD, the Deputy Chief Minister
said the same is necessary for ensuring that the initiatives undertaken by the
department are implemented fully especially the new schemes meant to augment
the electric infra.
“The
district administrations should extend every possible support both logistically
as well as through human resource to the concerned PDD divisions so that work
on various developmental project gets expedited and the projects are completed
within the stipulated timelines”, Deputy Chief Minister maintained.
Dr Singh
while directing the officers to synergize their efforts asked them to hold
regular meetings so that the requisite results are achieved within the
stipulated timeframe and also get necessary feedback about the status of work
and implementation of various initiatives on the ground.
The Deputy
Chief Minister further directed the officers to register and address problems
faced by consumers in a time bound manner. He further directed the service conditions
of the field staff of the department should also be improved so that they could
serve the people in a more professional manner.
Dr Singh
also directed to dedicate staff in every district, who would provide their
mobile numbers through whom the consumers could register their complaints and
get them redressed immediately.
The
Minister of State for Power while speaking on the occasion also asked the
officers to keep themselves abreast of the problems and needs of the people
besides also ensuring the timely completion n of various initiatives of
government in a coordinated manner with District Administration.
