BARAMULLA, AUGUST 22: Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla today chaired a meeting at Dak Bungalow Baramulla to review the functioning of municipality department.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of various municipal committees of the district, town planners, supervisors and other field functionaries of the department.
The ADDC was informed that about 90 building construction cases have been settled in Baramulla town by municipal authority during which Rs 13.67 lakh was collected as fee besides settling 80 cases in Pattan, 16 cases in Kunzer and 5 cases in Uri. It was also informed that the department is taking concerted efforts to stop illegal construction on lanes, by lanes and other places of public importance.
On the occasion, the ADDC directs the concerned to keep in view the due course of law while formulating building plans besides disallowing illegitimate constructions.
He also directed for beautification of public parks besides the routine task of sanitation. The ADDC called upon the field functionaries to intensify the drive against polythene users so that J&K can restore the polythene free environment.
Highlighting the role of municipality in overall sanitation of the surrounding, the ADDC directed for maintenance of drainage system so that water borne diseases are contained.
Meanwhile the ADDC ordered the department to act against the street encroachers so hassle free movement of commuters is ensured.
