New Delhi, Aug 16 : The Union Cabinet today gave the go-ahead for completion of balance works of the incomplete North Koel Reservoir Project in Jharkhand and Bihar. Announcing this, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said the Cabinet would raise extra budgetary resources up to Rs 9,020 crore for long-term Irrigation Fund during 2017-18. The unfinished project, which started in 1972 but was left incomplete, is expected to boost agriculture productivity in Eastern India, the Minister said. UNI
