ANANTNAG, AUGUST 24: Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag,
Mr. Mohammad Younis today chaired a meeting of officers to ensure that proper
arrangements are put in place for the celebration of Eid-ul-Azha here at DC
office Anantnag.
SE PDD, Exens of PDD & PHE, CMO, Chief Animal/Sheep Husbandry
Officer, Anantnag, ARTO, all Tehsildars, AD FCS&CA, Deputy Director Fire
and Emergency, Food Safety Officer, Executive Officers of Municipal
Committee/Councils, DySP Traffic and other concerned officers were present in
the meeting.
The availability of essential commodities including rice, atta, sugar
and LPG, transport arrangements, cleanliness of Mosques, streets and Eidgahs,
ambulance services, uninterrupted power and water supply and availability of
poultry birds and sacrificial animals were discussed threadbare.
Deputy Commissioner instructed AD FCS&CA to ensure the availability
& distribution of essential commodities before Eid. Chief Medical Officer
was asked to ensure round-the-clock duty of doctors and paramedical staff in
the health institutions of the district.
The concerned Tehsildars were instructed to undertake market checking
for which squads comprising of the officials of Revenue, legal metrology and
police have to be constituted.
Chief Animal Husbandry Officer informed the meeting that 1.35 lac birds
shall be kept available in the district. For facilitating people, the
department shall establish stalls at Stadium Anantnag, Khiram, Larkipora,
besides a mobile van which shall cater Bijbehara, Qigund and other towns.
Meanwhile, District Sheep Husbandry Officer informed that 60 thousand
sacrificial animals shall be kept available at Hanfia Eidgah, Anantnag stadium,
Main Market Bijbehara, Vailoo, Dachnipora, Srigufwara and Aishmuqam. For
sacrificial animals, the rate per live kilogram as fixed by the government is
Rs 185.
Besides, AD Fisheries was also directed to establish stalls at Anantnag
stadium, Women’s College and Janglat Mandi.
Executive Officers of concerned municipalities were instructed to ensure
proper cleanliness and sanitation around the centrally located mosques, streets
and eidgahs. Besides, they were directed to get the street lights repaired at
an earliest.
PDD and PHE departments were instructed to ensure uninterrupted power
and water supply during Eid days. PHE authorities were directed to put in place
water tanker services around Eidgahs.
