Asks Officials to Protect Consumer Rights
KUPWARA, AUGUST 24: District
Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, today convened a meeting of all
district and sectoral Officers to discuss and review the arrangements being put
in place for smooth celebration of upcoming Eid- ul -Azha.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Officers of
Revenue, Health, PDD, PHE, PWD FCS&CA, Sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry,
Traffic, Police, Information, Municipality Drug and Food Safety, LMD, CPC.
During the meeting the DDC directed the officers to ensure the proper
supply of power and water, transport and ration. The Municipal authorities were
directed to launch a cleanness drive in the town and at Eidgah and make
functional all the street lights so that people may not face any inconvenience.
Market checking squads were also directed for strict implementation of
approved market rates of chicken, mutton, bakery and other necessary items. Chief
Medical Officer was asked to keep ambulance and medical staff available on the day
to meet any exigency. The Animal/Sheep Husbandry departments were asked to
identify the spots for sale of sacrificial animals, poultry birds.
The DDC, on the occasion was informed that ration and LPG is
sufficiently available across the district.
All the officers were present in the meeting assured DDC that the
necessary arrangements will be put in place in advance so that people will not
face any difficulties whatsoever.
