SRINAGAR, AUGUST 25: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today convened a meeting to review the action plan for Geotagging demarcation of Dal, Nigeen, Aanchar, Manasbal lakes including Brari Numbal, Gilsar and Khushalsar water bodies for their preservation and conservation.
          Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Director Ecology Environment & Remote Sensing, Regional Wildlife Warden, Deputy Director Planning, Officers from LAWDA, SDA, Forests and other concerned officials were present in the meeting.
          The meeting was informed that Wular Lake was already Geotagged in which 1150 posts had been installed around 130 sq.kms area which indicate the No-construction zones around Wular Lake.
          Threadbare discussion were held about the physical demarcation of 200 meters from the periphery of Dal, Nigeen, Aanchar, Manasbal lakes including Brari Numbal, Gilsar and Khushalsar water bodies with proper signages and Geotagging.
          Divisional Commissioner Kashmir directed Deputy Commissioner of Srinagar & Ganderbal to retrieve the records from Central Record Room Bemina and send the report within 20 days to LAWDA, SDA, Wildlife, Forest departments and Div Com office so that the final decisions regarding demarcation of these water-bodies will be taken accordingly.
          Div Com also directed LAWDA to erect pegs on the boundaries which are identified from the records and complete the process within two months .

He asked Deputy Commissioners of Srinagar and Ganderbal to hold the periodical meetings regarding this plan and submit the reports to the Divisional Commissioner Kashmirs office.
