SRINAGAR, AUGUST 08: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir
Baseer Ahmad Khan today convened a meeting to review the progress of
Amargarh-Samba electricity transmission line.
Chief Engineers, Systems & Operations Kashmir, Project Head
Northern Region Strengthening Scheme-XXLX Limited, Deputy Director Planning,
Assistant Commissioner and other concerned officers were present in the
meeting. Deputy Commissioners Pulwama, Baramulla, Budgam and Shopian
participated in the meeting through Video Conferencing.
The meeting was informed that 10 transmission line towers will be
erected in Shopian, 8 in Pulwama, 84 in Budgam and 53 in Baramulla district as
part of this prestigious project.
Div Com directed the concerned Deputy Commissioners that land acquisition cases
should be expedited and other related issues resolved at the earliest. He said
the timely completion of this prestigious project is essential for improving
the power sector of the State as it would increase the transmission capability
to a large extent.
Khan also directed DCs and concerned Chief Horticulture
Officers to assess the amount for fruit trees which are lying along the
corridor of the transmission line so that early disbursal of compensation will
be paid to the growers.
Div Com directed officers to undertake necessary measures for ensuring
completion of Amargarh-Samba electric transmission line, maintaining that it
would go a long way in upgrading and augmenting the transmission network in the
State, besides ensuring that power to the tune of 1000 MWs can be imported to
the State from the Northern Grid.
