Stresses on rehabilitation of distressed women
KUPWARA, AUGUST 28: The Chairperson, Jammu and Kashmir
State Commission for Women, (JKSCW) Nayeema Ahmad Mahjoor, today conducted
extensive tour to village Dardpora (Kralpora) to meet women victims of
militancy, especially widows of the village for gaining firsthand knowledge of
their issues, problems.
She was informed about the issues, needs, requirements and
rehabilitation measures for these needy women.
The Chairperson was welcomed by the officers of District Administration,
District Social Welfare Officer and ICDS, Project Officer at Dak Bungalow
Kupwara.
Speaking on the occasion the Chairperson, stressed upon the concerned
officials to ensure relief, rehabilitation and welfare schemes reach to the
women in distress.
She was informed that 115 militancy victims are registered with the
District Social Welfare Department. It was given out that 12 girls have been
covered under marriage assistance programme.
