New Delhi, Aug 18 :  Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today appealed to 449 private schools to follow the recommendation of Justice Anil Dev Singh Committee and return the excess fees taken by them, failing which the government would be compelled to take over the school. "To implement recommendation of the Sixth pay Commission, many schools have increased their fees, that was not justified. Court formed Justice Anil Dev Singh Committee, then the Committee has directed the schools to refund the excess fees but they didn't. I appeal to those schools to implement report of the Committee. If you don't do so, then we will be compelled to take over the school," Mr Kejriwal told a press conference here. The Chief Minister said the Government won't interfere in the workings of private schools but can't sit quietly if schools take money in wrong manner from parents. "The present AAP Government is not against private schools, we consider it as a part of our education system. In this whole exercise there is no witch-hunting," Mr Kejriwal asserted. The Chief Minister added that the Government has improved the condition of the schools in Delhi and it has many things to achieve yet in the education sector. "We have improved it so that everyone get similar education. Now people has option," Mr Kejriwal stated. Education Minister Manish Sisodia, who was also present, said 449 schools were given showcause notice to comply with Justice Anil Dev Singh's report, failing which the government will take over the schools.
