| Inspects Chanakyapuri Guest House, takes stock of facilities to inmates; directs improvement |
NEW DELHI, AUGUST 31: Chief
Minister, Mehbooba Mufti laid the foundation of additional accommodation at J&K
House, Chanakya Puri here today.
The proposed block would have 24 rooms, spread over four floors with two
connecting corridors. The block would be built as per the latest fire safety
norms.
Minister of State for Transport and Public Works, Sunil Kumar Sharma;
Financial Commissioner, K. B. Aggarwal; Principal Resident Commissioner, R. K.
Gupta; Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Rohit Kansal and other officers
of JK House were present on this occasion.
On the
occasion, Principal Resident Commissioner briefed the Chief Minister about the
project which has been necessitated due to increased rush. He also informed the
Chief Minister about the renovation and up gradation of rooms at JK House, 5- Prithvi Raj Road, New Delhi which
is being executed at a cost of Rs. 1.28 crores and is expected to be completed in six
months.
Soon after laying the foundation stone, Mehbooba Mufti visited various
blocks of the Guest House to personally inspect the facilities available for
residents of the State while on their visit to the national capital. She issued
on spot instructions for upgradation and improvement in the condition of rooms,
hygienic condition of the pantries and general cleanliness of the compound. She
specifically directed immediate upgradation of bedding and cutlery of the rooms
besides the kitchen kits.
The Chief Minister particularly directed providing all sorts of help and
assistance to the patient-inmates at the Guest House who come here for the
treatment of life consuming diseases.
The Chief Minister later chaired a meeting to review the status of State’s properties
at the national capital and at cities of Mumbai, Chandigarh and Amritsar.
Mehbooba Mufti urged the JK Resident Commission officials to make every
effort to protect and preserve the properties.
