Islamabad, Aug 17: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif, along with both his sons, in money laundering and corruption cases tomorrow.
Hussain and Hasan Nawaz--sons of Mr Sharif-- have been asked to appear before investigators in Lahore, Pakistan daily Dawn quoted an NAB official as saying.
He said this would be the first of many cases that NAB was going to probe — an act which could have repercussions for the Sharifs’ politics as well as for the country’s political scene for long.
The case had been referred to the Rawalpindi NAB on August 11 and the decision to summon the Sharifs was taken by NAB chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, the official said.
