Delhi, Aug 26: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today reviewed the law
and order situation in a meeting after conviction of Dera Sacha Sauda chief
Gurmeet Ram Rahim in rape case which triggered large scale violence by his
supporters in many parts of Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab and some parts of Delhi
and Rajasthan. Briefing media persons after the meeting, Home Secretary Rajiv
Mehrishi said the meeting reviewed the internal security situation in the
country after the large scale violence by Dera supporters. He said as per
Haryana Director General of Police, 'the situation is under control in the
state. Some other points related to internal security were also discussed in
the meeting.' Mr Mehrishi said the situation in Punjab, Rajasthan and Delhi is
normal. Senior Police and administrative officials of Punjab, Rajasthan and
Delhi took part in the meeting. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval was also
present in the meeting. The Home Secretary told reporters that the ongoing
encounter with terrorists in the Pulwama of Jammu and Kashmir was also
discussed. It is believed that the security forces have holed up two to four
